Wahab Riaz apologizes for Pakistan's dismal performance in the World Cup quarters
Wahab Riaz, the Pakistani speedster, who was seen indulging in a fiery one-sided onslaught against the Australian top order batsmen has apologized for his team’s failure in the World Cup quarter-finals.
“I am sad and I apologize to the people for the defeat because they had so many expectations from us” the left arm pacer said on Geo News channel.
However, the 29-year-old earned tremendous respect from the whole cricket fraternity for his scintillating spell against the Aussies.
The pacer was quick to defend his teammate – Rahat Ali, who dropped a simple catch that gave Shane Watson a new life. From being dropped on 4, Watson went on to score an unbeaten 64 to lead the host nation to victory.
Riaz said, “I have no complaints because these things (dropped catches) happen in a high-pressure match.”
