Warne and Samuels involved in an ugly spat on field
Aaron Finch’s unbeaten 67 led Melbourne Renegades to a nine-wicket win over the Stars in a Big Bash League Twenty20 match. But the highlight of the match was a particular incident which happened during the Renegades’ innings. The Renegades had a comfortable lead and Warne took the only wicket to fall, of Alex Doolan. This brought Samuels to the crease and he almost immediately had a spat with Warne. Angry at the batsman having obstructed David Hussey running during the Stars’ innings, Warne grabbed at the West Indian’s shirt and exchanged angry words. A little while later, in an almost deliberate act, Warne hit batsman with the ball while fielding. This left the West Indies player furious and he flung his bat into the air and sort of provoked Warne to engage in a brawl.
