Watch: Bumrah reacts to Aussie kid imitating his action
What's the story?
Jasprit Bumrah, one of the major reasons behind the rise of India's pace attack in recent times, has one of the distinctive bowling actions in the current game. The pacer often excites youngsters with his unorthodox style of bowling.
Pertinently, apart from turning heads in Australia after his heroic performances with the ball, Bumrah seems to be inspiring the next generation of Aussie cricketers.
Recently, a Twitter user posted a video of a young Aussie kid imitating Bumrah's bowling action. Thrilled by the development, the 25-year-old expressed hisย wishes for his young fan by coming up with a beautiful tweet for the kid.
In the past...
After India's victory during the 2018 Asia Cup, a user posted a video on Twitter elaborating how Bumrah's performance in the tournament had made a five-year-old boy from Pakistan copy his unique bowling action.
The development moved the right-arm pacer as the young boy reminded him of his childhood days when he used to imitate the actions of his cricketing heroes.
The heart of the matter
With 21 wickets in four matches, Bumrah finished the just concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy as the highest wicket-taker. The skiddy seamer not only scalped wickets at regular intervals but also made Aussie batsmen fight hard for their runs right throughout the series.
Bumrah played a huge part in India's maiden Test series victory in Australia and his contribution would be surely remembered for a long time.
He was not only praised by the fans and pundits back at home but he received equal respect and love from the hosts as well. As the series concluded, the seamer looks to have already left a mark with his bowling in Australia.
This morning, an Australian Twitter user posted a video of a small kid and wrote, "@bhogleharsha @Jaspritbumrah93 The only problem from your great series win may be the next generation of Aussie cricketers you have inspired!"
Bumrah responded by writing, "The kid is so cute . Give him my best wishes." Veteran commentator Harsha Bhogle, who was also tagged in the post, replied by terming the kid's efforts as "excellent".
What's next?
Due to workload management, Bumrah has been rested for the upcoming ODI series in Australia as well as the limited-overs tour of New Zealand He is expected to be back in action during the home ODI series against Australia in February-March.
