Watch: Indian biographical sports film 'Azhar' trailer out

The trailer of the film ‘Azhar’ is out now in which Bollywood’s Emraan Hashmi is playing the role of former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin. He was one of the most successful and eventually, the most controversial captains to lead the team India.

Directed by Tony D'Souza and produced by Ekta Kapoor, 'Azhar' also stars Lara Dutta as a lawyer, Huma Qureshi as Jwala Gutta and Gautam Gulati as Ravi Shastri. The movie was made with a promise of bringing out the ugliest truth of the most followed game in India.

The story promises to cover rise and downfall of Azharuddin’s personal life and cricketing career. His first and second wife roles have been played by Prachi Desai and Nargis Fakhri respectively. The biographical sports film will be releasing on May 13, 2016.

In real life, Azharuddin debuted for Indian against England in 1984-85, with three hundreds in his first three Tests, a feat that has never been match. But then allegations of match-fixing provided an emphatic full stop to his wonderful cricket career.
