Watch: MS Dhoni gets ignored by little kid; gives up and walks away
What's the story?
MS Dhoni recently saw himself turned down by a little kid at an event in Mumbai when he offered to pick the child up. Amid a packed crowd, the former India skipper asked the kid if he would like to be carried, but the child began to cry and walked away.
In case you didn't know...
Post claiming the Player of the Series accolade against Australia in the ODI series, courtesy of a hat-trick of half-centuries, Dhoni has been on a break ahead of the highly anticipated series against the Aussies at home.
He is arguably the most loved player across the landscape of India, owing to his infectious smile, six-hitting abilities, and records, of course.
The heart of the matter
The child in question, who had a golden opportunity of personally meeting the Jharkhand-born batsman, refused to give Dhoni the reception he usually receives from the citizens of India and other parts of the world.
In a video where Dhoni is seen greeting his fans at an event in Mumbai after a friendly football game, he came across the kid, who was least interested in meeting the 2011 World Cup-winning captain.
'Aaoge', (Will you come?) asked Dhoni, offering to carry the child.
Much to everyone's amusement, the kid started crying and walked away to a lady, probably his mother, in fright. Everyone around then chuckled, including Dhoni.

What's next?
MS Dhoni will return to action on 24 February against Australia for the first of two T20Is at Vizag.
That is to be followed by five ODIs, which could more or less determine India's final 15 for the World Cup, which is slated to commence on May 30.
