Watch: MS Dhoni's innovative wicketkeeping in the game against Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2016
MS Dhoni did something on a cricket field which many astute goalkeepers in the football ground would have been extremely proud of. The Indian captain has often surprised everyone with his out-of-the-box moves while captaining a side. But this time, he left everyone bewildered with his innovative wicketkeeping trick.
In the game against the Kings XI Punjab side in the IPL 2016, MS Dhoni pulled off an amazing trick that left the spectators amazed. He blocked an attempted late cut of the Punjab batsman Manan Vohra with his foot!. Vohra executed the stroke well but the indefatigable MS Dhoni pulled out a trick from his bag and wowed one and all.
Here is the video of that mindblowing trick, courtesy of the Indian Premier League’s official twitter handle

After the effort, the netizens started a series of tweets lauding the effort of the Pune skipper. Some even said that the effort would have Manchester United goalkeeper David de Hea proud! Dhoni who is revered for his street smartness on the field has once again proved the fact that he is someone whom you can never predict. He will surprise you the next moment and extinguish all your predictions about him.
However, Dhoni's team lost the game to the Kings XI Punjab side who beat them by 6 wickets to notch up their first win of the IPL 2016. Chasing a target of 153, Kings XI Punjab was in a spot of bother as they slumped to 119 for 4 in the 17th over after a terrific opening stand of 97 between Murali Vijay and Manan Vohra. But it was Glenn Maxwell in the end who guided his team home with eight balls to spare.
But no one will forget that smart bit of keeping from the man himself. Known to have the fastest hands behind the stumps, Dhoni now has his legs too which work equally well behind the stumps.
Kudos to the man for his outstanding improvisation.
