[Watch] Mumbai Indians players celebrate as GT's win confirms their IPL 2023 playoffs spot
The Mumbai Indians (MI) players were seen watching the game closely between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from their team hotel on Sunday, May 21.
They needed GT to win the game so that they could qualify for the playoffs and that's exactly what happened as the visitors won at the Chinnaswamy Stadium by six wickets. Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli smashed hundreds in the same game, but it was the former who had it for the winning cause.
In a video posted by Mumbai Indians on their Instagram handle, the players are seen hugging each other after GT's win as that confirmed that they were the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs. Some players also showed their dance moves and were ecstatic that they made the final phase of the tournament.

Mumbai Indians' batting flexed their muscles once again
The first thing that MI needed to do on Sunday was to ensure that they won their final league game at home against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). While the visitors posted a target of 201, Mumbai have shown throughout the season that they don't mind chasing big targets with the kind of batting line-up they have.
Cameron Green rose to the occasion as he smashed a fine hundred off just 47 balls and helped Mumbai Indians seal the game with eight wickets in hand and two overs to spare. They will also be delighted to see captain Rohit Sharma back in form with a well-made 56.
With the playoffs being held in Chennai and then Ahmedabad, this MI batting will definitely be tested. MI might need their bowlers to step up and ensure that they don't leak runs and put that added pressure on the batting line-up. Nevertheless, given the injury concerns they had, Mumbai will be thrilled to have reached the playoffs.
