[Watch] Rishabh Pant gets out to a short ball for 21 off Pat Cummins in BGT 2024-25 2nd Test
Australian skipper Pat Cummins produced a stunning bouncer to get the better of Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant in the second session of Day 1 of the pink-ball Test in Adelaide. Pant went back after scoring 21 runs off 35 balls with the help of two boundaries.
After losing a flurry of wickets in a short span, the onus was on Pant to bail India out of danger. The southpaw looked good during his stay in the middle and seemed destined for another big knock. However, his vigil ended courtesy of a sharp bouncer from Cummins.
It was a hit-the-deck delivery from the Australian skipper which kicked off from back of length. Pant was undone by the extra bounce and got into an awkward position while trying to defend the ball. In the process, the ball hit the shoulder of the bat and ballooned up only for Marnus Labuschagne to complete an easy catch.

With Rishabh Pant's dismissal, India were reduced to 109/6 after 32.5 overs. He was the second batter to be dismissed following the lunch break after Scott Boland trapped Rohit Sharma plumb in front of the wicket. The skipper's awful form with the bat continued as he perished after scoring only three runs off 23 deliveries.
At the time of writing, Team India are still in the woods at 140/6 with Nitish Reddy and Ravichandran Ashwin trying to build a partnership.
