[Watch] When Virat Kohli promised a selfie to a fan and fulfilled it exactly after 11 days

On August 12, 2023, Virat Kohli promised to give a fan a selfie on August 23, and he eventually did so, much to the latter's happiness. This took place while Kohli was enjoying a break after featuring for the national team in the ODI series against West Indies.

As per the footage, Kohli seemed to be in a rush to enter his car at the parking lot of the Mumbai airport. The fan followed him and asked for a selfie, to which Kohli politely turned down the request. Instead, he asked the fan to meet him on August 23 and take a photo.

Here's what Kohli said to the fan:

"23 tarikh ko jaa raha hun main, tab de dunga (I am leaving on the 23rd, will give a selfie then)."

On August 23, the fan was at the airport ahead of Kohli's departure and told the star batter:

"Sir Aaj 23 tarikh hai (sir, today is 23rd)."

Kohli responded:

"Kahan hai wo banda? (where is that guy?)"

The fan replied:

"Aaj 23 tarikh hai, sabko chahiye (today is 23rd and we all want a selfie)."

Kohli fulfilled the request and said:

"Haan lelo na (Yes, take it)."

The 35-year-old was certainly kind to all the fans, as he clicked for photos with all of them.

Kohli was reportedly departing for Sri Lanka ahead of the Asia Cup, which was scheduled to be played from August 30 to September 17. The tournament saw India emerge as champions while Kohli garnered 129 runs in five innings.

Virat Kohli will return to action later this month

Virat Kohli will make his return to international cricket in a two-match Test series against Bangladesh, which begins on September 19. Kohli's last Test appearance came in January against South Africa, where he was India's best batter with 172 runs in four innings.

The veteran batter withdrew from the home Test series against England due to the birth of his son, Akaay, on February 15.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli retired from the shortest format after India's T20 World Cup triumph. He slammed 76 off 59 balls in the final against South Africa, which helped the Men in Blue win the game by seven runs.
