Yuvraj Singh praised young opener, Shubman Gill, for his consistent performances at the top level. Singh considered Gill a strong contender for the 2023 ICC World Cup. The former all-rounder mentored some of the younger players from his home state Punjab. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Gill and Punjab's Ranji captain Abhishek Sharma stayed with Yuvraj and trained under him.
