We have to learn to play without Dinesh Karthik, says Patriots’ Srinivas
Aushik Srinivas of Albert Tuti Patriots addressed the media after his team’s nine-wicket loss to Lyca Kovai Kings in their India Cements TN Premier League game at Chepauk on Wednesday. Here is the excerpt from the transcript.
Patriots faced 56 dot balls, so what went wrong and why couldn’t they rotate strike?
They (Kings) bowled well and did not allow us ones and twos. We have to find a solution to our woes. We lost the plot after losing three wickets and it was very difficult to score the ones and twos.
Was the absence of Dinesh Karthik the reason for the loss?
We missed him but then it was definitely not the reason for the loss. We need to learn playing without DK. We do hope to learn and improve in the coming matches.
Why did you bat first despite an experienced bowling line-up?
We wanted to score big and pile on the pressure as we did in the last match.
What lies next?
There is a long way to go as we have five more games to play. We have the players who will go the extra mile. We want to enter the top-four and win the title!
What about your bowling, any thoughts?
I want to be consistent and want to improve in the next few games.
