We need to be patient with Virat Kohli, says Rahul Dravid
Former India captain Rahul Dravid thinks that India's new permanent Test captain Virat Kohli should be given his own time to get accustomed with the situation as a leader. The upcoming home and away series will help settle Kohli with his new responsibility.
"India will be playing a lot many home series in the span of two-and-a-half years, which is going to be a good chance for them to establish themselves," Dravid was quoted saying by MidDay News.
"It will give Virat Kohli as Test captain the time to settle, and I think he needs time. We need to be patient with Virat, need to give him time and allow him to grow in his role."
Dravid is all start his new innings as a coach of India 'A' and Under-19 team, said that youngsters will have a chance to impress the selectors in the matches to come.
"Youngsters — selected for India A and U-19 team — will get chance to exhibit their talents and force selectors to take note of their performances in coming series," he said.
Australia 'A' and South Africa 'A' team are scheduled to play in India in coming July and August month. This will be Dravid's first test as a coach.
