Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming on Thursday said the team needs to play really well against Mumbai Indians here on Friday in the IPL 2015 encounter without being overconfident.

CSk should keep in mind the home side's abilities and strengths.

Mumbai have lost all their three matches played so far - against Rajasthan Royals in Ahmedabad by seven wickets, against Kings XI Punjab at home by 18 runs and against Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL-eight opener in Kolkata by seven wickets.

Whereas CSK have won their two matches played so far. Beating the Delhi Daredevils by one run and the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 45 runs. Both fixtures were held in Chennai.

Fleming urges team not to be complacent against MI.

"We really have to play well against Mumbai. Not show any complacency or any overconfidence. It will be a very hard fought game on Friday. Given the start that Mumbai had, it's going to be tougher. Some of our players have played well here," Fleming said.

The 42-year-old also said the team has not won the IPL title for past three years but need to go step-by-step to reach the goal.

"We are always trying to get better. We haven't won the Cup for three years. We have come very close. We have to earn the place there. What we can do is climb step by step into that position again. We have to play really well for a long period of time," the former New Zealand skipper said.
