West Indies announce 30-man probable squad for 2015 World Cup, Ravi Rampaul excluded
West Indies have announced their 30-man probable squad for the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, starting in February. Fast bowler Ravi Rampaul has not been named in the squad. He was part of the squad that withdrew mid-way through their tour of India in October. He had also not found a place in the Test squad that is set to take on South Africa in a three-match series, starting on December 17.
Any hopes of watching Shivnarine Chanderpaul in coloured clothing once again were also dashed as he too didn’t find a spot in the probable list. He last played for his country in the quarter-finals of the 2011 World Cup, against Pakistan in Mirpur.
The squad sees as many as six uncapped players being included, with leg-spinner Imran Khan, opener Evin Lewis, fast bowler Marquino Mindley, seamer Kenroy Peters, off-spinner Ashley Nurse and all-rounder Jonathan Carter yet to make their ODI debut.
Squad: Sulieman Benn, Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Dwayne Bravo, Jonathan Carter, Sheldon Cottrell, Miguel Cummins, Narsingh Deonarine, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Jason Holder, Imran Khan, Leon Johnson, Evin Lewis, Nikita Miller, Marquino Mindley, Sunil Narine, Ashley Nurse, Kenroy Peters, Versammy Permaul, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Kemar Roach, Andre Russell, Darren Sammy, Marlon Samuels, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Smith, Devon Smith, Jerome Taylor
