West Indies board refuses Pakistan's offer of playing T20s in Lahore

The West Indies will play all their games against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates as scheduled after turning down an offer from the host board to stage the two Twenty20 Internationals.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan said on Monday they had requested the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) to play the two games here but the Caribbean body had declined on the basis of security concerns, reports CMC.

International cricket has not been played in Pakistan since 2009 when terrorists attacked the Sri Lankan team bus en route to a game, killing seven policemen and injuring several players.

"We wanted the Twenty20s to be played in Pakistan and made an effort but the West Indies Cricket Board have refused, saying they have security fears, so the full series will be played in (the) United Arab Emirates," Khan said on Monday.
