West Indies Cricket Board deny calling off India series
The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) have denied calling off the ongoing tour of India, contrary to media reports. Earlier today, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that the India-West Indies series will be cancelled following the WICB’s request to send their players back home after the end of the 4th One Day International (ODI) on Friday because of a pay dispute.
The WICB, though, have now released an official statement saying, "The West Indies Cricket Board advises, that, contrary to media reports, it has taken no decision to discontinue the ongoing tour to India."
"The WICB will make a further statement following the conclusion of the fourth one-day international which is in progress."
The BCCI have even roped in Sri Lanka to play 5 ODIs to compensate for the losses that the cancellation of the Windies series would result in.
