West Indies look to draw series against Australia

Caption

The first Test lasted just three days as Australia retained the Frank Worrell Trophy in Dominica, after a blistering knock from debutant – Adam Voges. The best the West Indies can now hope for is to level the series by winning the final Test, which is scheduled to start tomorrow in Sabina Park, Kingston.

This would be their first victory against Australia in a Test in 12 years. The six-wicket haul from Devendra Bishoo and the second-innings 70 scored by debutant Shane Dowrich were encouraging for the team and also something to boast about after the collapse of the batting order. Although, the overall performance was dissatisfying. Their fielding and shot-selection of the batsmen is something the team has to look into and focus upon, if they wish to challenge the kangaroos.

Sabina Park has proven to be a spin effective pitch in first-class cricket this year and the Windies will be hoping that Bishoo can once again trouble the Australian batting order and help them secure a win.

Possible playing XI:

West Indies: 1. Kraigg Brathwaite, 2. Shai Hope, 3. Darren Bravo, 4. Shane Dowrich, 5. Marlon Samuels, 6. Jermaine Blackwood, 7. Denesh Ramdin (capt & wk), 8. Jason Holder, 9. Jerome Taylor, 10. Devendra Bishoo, 11. Shannon Gabriel.
