West Indies vs England 2019 ODI Squads and Teams: Complete list of players
West Indies did the highly improbable by defeating England by 2-1 in the three-match Test series. Before the start of the series, Windies were not even considered as a very competitive side, largely owing to their unimpressive run in red-ball cricket in recent times.
However, the Caribbean team left the cricket world in awe in the very first match as they put on a masterful display and won it by 381 runs. Thereafter, the Jason Holder-led side continued to fly in the second match as well.
They looked in control from the very first session and ended up winning the game by 10 wickets. Down by 2-0, the Englishmen, however, finished the series on a winning note as they triumphed in the third Test by 232 runs at St Lucia.
Meanwhile, the two sides are set to lock horns in the five-match ODI series, starting from February 20 in Barbados. England is arguably the best ODI side in the world currently while the Windies are struggling down the table, ranking wise.
Nonetheless, the way West Indies played in the longest version of the game, they can surely be as good in the coloured jerseys. Both the teams are filled with magnificent limited-overs talent and cricket enthusiasts would surely get to see some cracking contest between ball and bat.
So, Let's look at the squads of both teams:
West Indies ODI squad: Jason Holder (captain), Fabian Allen, Devendra Bishoo, Darren Bravo, Chris Gayle, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Evin Lewis, Ashley Nurse, Keemo Paul, Nicholas Pooran, Rovman Powell, Kemar Roach, Oshane Thomas.
England ODI squad: Eoin Morgan (captain), Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Tom Curran, Joe Denly, Alex Hales, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood.
With likes of Chris Gayle back in the Windies side, the hosts would be hoping to see him playing those big knocks while England on the other hand would like to continue their good run in limited overs cricket.
