West Indies women take 3-0 ODI lead against New Zealand
Basseterre (St. Kitts), Sep 18 (IANS/CMC) Seamer Shakera Selman inspired the West Indies women to an eight-wicket crushing of New Zealand as they took a 3-0 lead in the four-match One-Day International (ODI) series here.
Opting to bat first, the visitors were bundled out for 69 in 32.2 overs with player-of-the-match Selman picking up 5/15 and off-spinner Anisa Mohammed claiming 3/11 at Warner Park Wednesday, reports CMC.
Wicketkeeper Rachel Priest top scored with 19, Maddie Green got 14 and captain Suzie Bates scored 13 but they were the only three batsmen in double figures as Selman and Mohammed combined to wreck the innings.
In reply, the West Indies cruised to their target in 17.2 overs with Stafanie Taylor finishing unbeaten on 23 and Deandra Dottin scoring 21 not out.
The pair put on 38 for the third wicket to secure the win after openers Kycia Knight (13) and Natasha McLean (10) fell cheaply.
