When Haris Rauf said he didn't like Rohit Sharma's body language
Pakistan's tearaway pacer Haris Rauf was recently involved in a scuffle with a fan in the United States of America (USA) after Pakistan's 2024 T20 World Cup group-stage exit. The video of the cricket star's fight with the fan surfaced on social media on Tuesday, June 18.
In the clip, Rauf can be seen losing his cool over a comment made by the fan. He charged towards him. His wife tried to diffuse the situation by stopping it but to no avail.
After his fight with the fan, one of Rauf's old interviews went viral on social media, in which he stated that he didn't like Team India skipper Rohit Sharma's body language during the India vs Pakistan clash at the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Here's what the 30-year-old had said during an interview with Cricwick:
"When I saw Rohit Sharma during the national anthem, I said to myself that I have to get his wicket as he looked quite intimidating with his body language and all that, I didn't like it. So Allah helped me achieve it."
Haris Rauf succeeded in dismissing Rohit Sharma in the encounter. He also took the crucial wicket of Suryakumar Yadav. However, Virat Kohli's unbeaten 82-run knock helped the Men in Blue chase the 160-run target in the last-ball thriller.
Rohit Sharma won the battle against Haris Rauf at the 2023 ODI World Cup
While Haris Rauf managed to dismiss Rohit Sharma at the 2022 T20 World Cup, the Indian captain bounced back by dominating the proceedings when the two arch-rivals met the next time at the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Pakistan were bundled out for just 191 in the marquee encounter. Sharma started the run chase in style, taking the Pakistani bowlers to the cleaners. The seasoned campaigner scored 86 runs off 63 deliveries as India completed a comprehensive seven-wicket win. Sharma hit six maximums during his entertaining knock, three of which came off Rauf's bowling.
Rauf had a forgettable outing against India. He conceded 43 runs from six overs and failed to pick up a single wicket.
