Who said What: World reminisces Sachin Tendulkar's debut match and celebrates 27 years of the Master Blaster
15 November 1989 is a date which every Indian cricket fan fondly remembers. As a relatively unknown 16-year-old teenager made his way out to the middle against Pakistan at Karachi, no one would have estimated the kind of impact he would have had.
There was no turning back for Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar since his debut in 1989. He turned out to become the highest ever run-getter in the Test and One-Day Internationals in the history of cricket in a career which spanned over 23 years. Having played 200 Tests and 463 ODIs for India, Sachin Tendulkar amassed 34347 runs with an average of 54.17 in Tests and 44.48 in the shorter format.
He broke numerous records throughout his career and has earned the title of the greatest batsman of all time. As we celebrate 27 years of Sachin Tendulkar playing for India, let’s take a look at how his former teammates and others reacted to this occasion on the social media platform Twitter.
Current Indian Test captain Virat Kohli expressed his emotions on Twitter. Tendulkar was Kohli’s role model growing up.
