Who said What: World Reacts as the 2nd Test between India and England is set for an exciting finish
The 4th day's play between India and England was well balanced between the two sides as the visitors require another 318 runs to win with all their 8 wickets in hand. Alastair Cook and Haseeb Hameed were extremely solid in defense and frustrated the Indian bowlers for 50 overs before Hameed fell leg-before to Ashwin in the 51st over. Just before that, India were let down by two unsuccessful reviews which went against them because of the “umpire’s call” aspect of the Decision Review System. However, Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Captain Cook LBW in the final over of the match, thus giving India the much-needed boost before the 5th day.
Earlier in the day, the England bowlers proved to be too good for the Indian batsmen as India were bowled out for 204 just before lunch. Virat Kohli was unable to convert his knock into a century as he was dismissed by a stunning catch by Ben Stokes at the slip. Stuart Broad and Adil Rashid were the pick of the bowlers as they took 4 wickets each.
Stuart Broad on the day’s play and his bowling
Both the openers showed great temperament. It was a fantastic day for us and we’re very much in the test. We would have taken two down at stumps going in. It will be great to sit and chat with those who batted this afternoon and take that into the next day. For me, It was a decent time to bowl, the pitch had variable bounce and reverse swing and we applied pressure with ball and didn't let India control the game. We played with a lot of fight. My injury is still sore; its expected as a fast bowler to get niggles time and again but I've been able to play this test and hopefully it will heal quickly.
