Who Said What: World reacts to Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara's superb batting performance
India started the second Test against England in Vishakapatnam on a very positive note, posting 317 for 4 on the opening day to take early honours in the game. After losing KL Rahul and Murali Vijay early on, Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Virat Kohli got into the groove, milking the bowling around and putting the bad ball away when it came around to put the visitors under enormous pressure.
Pujara expressed his happiness over his great start to the series and added that he and Kohli sorted their misunderstanding in running between the wickets during the opening session, during the lunch interval.
"Really happy how the series has begun for me.Wanted to build on that Rajkot hundred. We wanted to build a partnership. We wanted to bat through the session. The way we started we were rotating the strike. He was timing the ball well, and I was confident after the 100. There was some misunderstanding in the first session. We spoke about that in lunch. If you see it was better second session onwards. This one is slower than Rajkot. I see more rough on both sides of the pitch. There might be a little more help for offspinners as the game progresses. Hopefully, there will be more cracks on it by the end of the second day. We would like to put up a big score, and hopefully we don't need to bat again,” he said.
Social media also came out in full praise of the duo for their stand of 226 runs.
