World Cup 2015: Yuvraj Singh picks India, Sri Lanka and Australia as title favourites
Yuvraj Singh has picked India, Sri Lanka and Australia as World Cup 2015 title favourites. He also believes that if the men in blue are to travel the distance in the next year’s marquee event to be held in Australia and New Zealand, the performances of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni will be critical.
Speaking to IBN7 in an exclusive interview, Yuvraj said: "Virat is a very talented boy. His determination is the reason behind his success. Rohit, Virat and Dhoni will be very important for India in the World Cup."
Next two months crucial for my World Cup ambitions
Underlining the importance of the next two months, the 32-year-old, who last represented India in an One Day International (ODI) on December 11, 2013, has said that he will be looking forward to getting into the good books of the national selectors to improve his chances of getting picked in the World Cup squad. He said: "I am playing domestic cricket and hope to make a quick comeback to the Indian team. Next two months are very crucial for me.”
Yuvraj, whose all-round skills played a vital role in India winning the 2011 World Cup, has also dismissed the rumours that he has given up hope on getting picked for his country again. The all-rounder said: “I never said that I won't play for India in the World Cup. I am definitely looking forward to play in the WC. I can't speak on the WC selection. But if I get an opportunity I will look to do well."
