World Cup 2019: Australia Captain Aaron Finch expects a stern test from Sri Lanka
On the eve of Australia's fifth World Cup match, against Sri Lanka at The Oval, Australia captain Aaron Finch said on Friday he doesn't expect an Ashes call up despite scoring 190 in their opening four games.
Finch has guided Australia to third in the World Cup standings with three wins from their opening four matches, and they should beat a Sri Lankan side that was thrashed by New Zealand, scraped past Afghanistan and then had their matches with Bangladesh and Pakistan washed out by rain.
The captain has been particularly pleased to have disgraced pair Steve Smith and David Warner return to the side after their ball-tampering ban.
