What's the story?

According to recent reports, a Pakistan fan has filed a complaint in the court to ban the Pakistan Cricket team and the selection committee after the team's loss against India in the World Cup 2019.

In case you didn't know...

India inflicted an 89-run defeat to neighbours Pakistan via DLS method when they met at Old Trafford a few days ago. Thanks to their crucial victory in the World Cup, the Men in Blue maintained their unbeaten record versus Pakistan in World Cup history. India now lead Pakistan 7-0 in World Cup encounters.

Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss but chose to bowl first, which turned out to be a costly error. The opening pair of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul enjoyed a superb start, which eventually led India to a huge total of 336/5 in 50 overs.

Rohit was the star man as he played a match-defining knock of 140 off 113 balls before getting dismissed. Virat Kohli and Pandya did their bit as they scored runs with relative ease in the death overs. Owing to the brilliant performances of Indian batsmen, Pakistan's chances of winning the match diminished before they came out to bat.

The Indian bowlers were fantastic, especially Kuldeep Yadav. Pakistan could only muster 212/6 in their rain-shortened quota of 40 overs, eventually losing the match by 89 runs.

The heart of the matter

Pakistan players are under massive amounts of criticism after they lost their encounter against India. The pictures of players at a pub in Manchester before the match went viral and Pakistani fans were not shy to vent out their anger following their dismal loss.

If reports are to be believed, a man had filed a petition in the court to ban the cricket team and to dissolve the selection committee led by Inzamam-ul-Haq. According to the report, the judge at the Gujranwala Civil Court in Punjab has called the officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as a response to the petition.

What's next?

Pakistan will face South Africa in their next World Cup fixture on Sunday.
