World Cup 2019 will commence with a blockbuster contest between England and South Africa. England are firm favourites to win their maiden World Cup title. The team has been at the top of its game in the last couple of years and has looked unbeatable, especially while playing at home.

England will be relying on its strong and dynamic batting line-up that has annihilated bowling attacks all over the world. Having said that, they will have their task cut out against a formidable South African bowling unit.

Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi are more than capable of destroying any team in the world. They will be backed by the experienced Dale Steyn and Imran Tahir. However, South Africa will be a little tensed about its batting. Hashim Amla and JP Duminy haven't played much cricket of late, while Van der Dussen is yet to be tested against quality bowling attacks.

Considering this, Quinton de Kock and Faf du Plessis will have to shoulder extra responsibility in the team's opening game.

Key players

England

Jos Buttler has been in sensational hitting form of late. The England vice-captain has the ability to take the game away from the opposition in a span of few overs. He will be crucial to England's chances against South Africa.

Jason Roy has given quick starts to England and it will be interesting to see how he negotiates the South African quicks.

The stage is set for Jofra Archer to announce himself in international cricket. England's bowling has struggled in the recent past and the team management might unleash Archer straightaway.

South Africa

With Hashim Amla making a comeback in the ODI side after a long time, South Africa will look up to Quinton de Kock to provide solidity to the top order.

Andile Phehlukwayo has slowly become an integral part of South Africa's ODI setup. The all-rounder will be keen to make a name for himself by performing well in the tournament.

Kagiso Rabada will be aware of the fact that all eyes are going to be on him. The South African speedster loves the big stage and will be South Africa's trump card against a rampant English side.

Who will win the match?

Even though both the teams are evenly matched on paper, England will have an upper hand considering their recent form playing at home. A herculean effort will be needed from South Africa to overcome the English challenge.
