The ICC World Cup 2019 is in the history books now. England and New Zealand made history by producing arguably the best ODI match in cricket history which saw the hosts triumph and win the tournament for the first time. A lot of new heroes emerged in this edition.

Players like Shakib Al Hasan, Rohit Sharma, David Warner, Kane Williamson and Joe Root shone in the batting department whereas the bowlers too tried to take the best assist from the conditions and dominate the batting line-ups. Every team taking part in the tournament had a strong bowling attack and hence, the batsmen had to face a stern test in English conditions.

In the sport of cricket, the best way of putting pressure on the batting team is to take wickets. However, in limited overs cricket, the importance of maiden overs increases very much. If a bowler bowls 6 consecutive dot deliveries to a batsman, he gets a psychological advantage when he comes in to bowl the next over.

In this article, we will have a look at the three bowlers who bowled the most maiden overs in this year's World Cup.

Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins formed a dangerous fast bowling pair with compatriot Mitchell Starc to dismantle the opponents' batting line-ups. Cummins played 10 matches in the tournament and bowled 86.1 overs for his team. The right-arm quick bowled at a fantastic economy rate of 4.95.
