World Cup 2019: Top three fielders of the tournamentÂ
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 ended as England won their maiden World Cup title by staving off New Zealand, in what was undoubtedly the most thrilling final in the history of the tournament.
Rohit Sharma broke the record for the most centuries in a single edition of the World Cup by smashing five tons in the tournament. England skipper Eoin Morgan also entered the record books after hitting the most sixes by an individual in a single match. He hit 17 sixes against Afghanistan. Both Mohammed Shami and Trent Boult took a hat-trick each against Afghanistan and Australia respectively, among other highlights of the tournament.
It is righly said that catches win matches while every run saved is a run scored, especially in the 50-over format. Modern-day fielding has transformed over the ages and fielders nowadays regularly put in superhuman efforts. The standard of fielding was expectedly very high in this tournament as well. There were some unbelievable catches and run-outs in this World Cup which went on to be the decisive efforts in the end.

#3 Glenn Maxwell ( Australia )
Glenn Maxwell is the so-called "X-factor" of the Australian side. He can perform with both the bat and the ball and was also the best fielder of the side in this World Cup. Although he was not able to contribute much with the bat, he made amends for it with his fielding. He contributed the most at the backward-point position and stopped certain boundaries.
Maxwell is also at the third place in the list of the most runs saved by a player. He saved a total of 32 runs in his nine matches and also took two difficult catches with ease during the course of the tournament.
