Eoin Morgan, said on Friday that he is "exceptionally pleased" with Joe Root's performance, as England thrashed the West Indies by eight wickets in the Cricket World Cup.
"He's such an important player for us. He is glue that holds everything together," added Morgan.
Root also took two wickets - both caught-and-bowled - and scored 100 off 94 balls, his second hundred of the tournament, to become the leading scorer in the World Cup so far.
