One can safely say that Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha is gearing up for the 2018 IPL in the best possible manner as he smashed a 20-ball century for his club Mohun Bagan in a JC Mukherjee Trophy match against BNR Recreation Club in Kalighat earlier today.

After restricting their opposition to just 151/7 in the 20 overs, Mohun Bagan's innings was off to a flier as openers Saha and skipper Subhomoy Das sent the bowlers on a leather hunt right from the first ball of their innings.

Saha was severe on them as he smashed the bowlers to every part of the ground and notched up his century off just 20 balls at a strike-rate of 510 with the help of four fours and 14 sixes. Out of the 20 balls he faced, he sent the ball to the fence on 18 occasions, accumulating 100 runs and scoring the remaining runs off two balls.

The scorecard of Mohun Bagan's innings

17 is the fewest deliveries taken by a batsman to score a hundred in an official match and in all likelihood, Saha is the fastest Indian to reach the three-figure mark in an official game. This is not the first time he scored a century in T20s as he already registered an unbeaten 115 off 55 balls in the final of the 2014 IPL.

Subhomoy was unbeaten on 43 off just 22 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes as his team managed to chase the target in just seven overs without the loss of any wickets.

After playing for Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab, Saha will turn out for former champions Sunrisers Hyderabad as the David Warner-led side bought him for INR 5 crore in the 2018 IPL auction.
