Young West Indies is ready for Australia challenge, says Jason Holder
West Indies ODI captain Jason Holder says that he is all set and ready to face the Aussies challenge in the upcoming Test series. Holder believes that the young Windies team is confident and roaring to go and play against the World champions.
“Young Windies line-up is riding high on confidence after an encouraging display against England recently and hoping to bring that same form against Australia,” Holder was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.
After playing a historic draw against the England side recently, Holder thinks that this time around, the host will be up against more widely praised or boasted side.
"They're ranked No.2 in the world and that says a lot. We're currently down at eight and we need to work our way up. We have to give them the respect they're due but obviously we're coming to compete and win this series.
"We'll be coming in quite hard at them. Looking to be aggressive and at least continue the rich vein of form we had in the England series."
When asked about Shivnarine Chanderpaul’s exclusion from the team, Holder answered the question in a casual manner, keeping his focus straight only on the visitors challenge.
"The exclusion of Shiv has caused a lot of talk," Holder said.
"That's beyond me at this present time, my focus right now is on cricket. It's quite important we put cricket first and try to perform well against Australia."
