Yuvraj Singh made a trip all the way to the Parliament yesterday to personally invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his wedding. With his mother in town, the star batsman met the Prime Minister and extended an invitation. So far so good.

But if reports emerging today are to be believed, a blunder of rather epic proportions was committed on the wedding card that was handed over to the Prime Minister. Apparently, Yuvraj Singh was done in by a ‘wrong one’ as the cover of the wedding card read “Shri Narender Modi Jee”.

The wedding itself is scheduled to take place on November 30 at Chandigarh. The wedding at Chandigarh would take place at a gurdwara. While the wedding is expected to be a rather low-key affair, a celebratory event is scheduled on the previous day and cricketers from the Indian team and touring England team are expected to be in attendance.

The sangeet, scheduled on December 5, is said to take place at a farmhouse near Chattarpur. The reception, however, wold take place at a plush hotel in Delhi on December 7.  Prior to these two events, a Hindu-style wedding is also planned on December 2 at Goa.

Reports are also emerging that Farah Khan would choreograph the sangeet ceremony and that Yuvraj Singh and his bride-to-be would be dancing to her popular dance steps.

Wedding cards being handed out to friends and relatives carry sweet boxes as well. Two boxes, one white in colour and the other a brown croc leather box were designed by ‘The House Of Design’ and sweets were from the ‘The Sweet Boutique’.

The white box apparently contained dry fruits and the other contained assorted sweets. The box also contained initials of the bride and groom adorned on a 24k edible gold embellishment.

Playing for Punjab this year in the Ranji Trophy, Yuvraj Singh has displayed good form.

He stroked his way to a 177 and 76 against MP at Rohtak. He followed that up with a resounding 260 against Baroda at Delhi.  And in his most recent game against UP, he notched up yet another half-century with an innings of 85.
