Yuvraj Singh last represented India in the T20 World Cup earlier this year

Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has been having a great Ranji season so far and is among the top five run-getters of the tournament as of now having scored 672 runs in five matches at an impressive average of 84.00.

When asked about his relationship with Kohli ever since the 2011 World Cup, he said, "Virat was then a kid... He's mature now and has grown into a very fine batsman. He's hit a good patch and this is the time for him to take India forward. "

He also went on to say that he was closely watching the on-going Test series between India and England and said that though the team is doing well, it will be tough in the next few matches. "The team's doing really well, away and at home. But England are tougher than the other teams we've faced this season," he said.

The left-hander also said that he has a lot of cricket left in him. Having last represented India in the T20 World Cup earlier this year, Yuvraj said that he was happy with his performances in the Ranji Trophy so far. He said, "I am still motivated. I got a career-best 260 just weeks ago. I'm not through with the game."

Yuvraj also spoke about Australia's recent slump in form. The 34-year old said that though the team wasn't as strong as the one back in the early 00s, it still had players with the ability to bounce back. The Punjab batsman said that he expected the Aussies to come back stronger in the next couple of matches.

"Back then, in 2000 and for the next six-seven years, each player in the Australia XI was a match-winner... That is not so now, with many greats having retired. In David Warner and Mitchell Starc, though, Australia do have a couple of very good players, but... That said, Australia's strength lies in their system and the top-class infrastructure which is available. So, as a group, they can always bounce back," he was quoted as saying by The Telegraph.
