After India's thrilling win against Bangladesh in the finals of the Nidahas Trophy 2017, spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has jumped 12 places to reach second position in the latest T20I bowling rankings, his career-best.

Along with Chahal, off-spinner Washington Sundar, who skyrocketed 151 positions to reach the 31st spot in the rankings. Sundar picked up eight wickets in the recently concluded series.

"It is important to read the mind (of the batsman). I myself am a batsman to an extent; I can suspect what he is thinking and where he is going to hit me. Every six balls, the batsman will be looking to hit you at least for a four and six. I am fortunate to have the skill of taking wickets in the Powerplay", Washington Sundar said during the tournament.

In the batting rankings, Shikhar Dhawan, who had a fruitful tournament with the bat, reached a career-best position of 17th, jumping 11 places after scoring 198 runs for the team. The list is being led by New Zealand star batsman Colin Munro.

India captain Virat Kohli, who skipped the Nidahas Trophy, slipped to the 8th spot. Dinesh Karthik, who was India's hero in the finals, blasting an eight-ball 29, entered in the top-100, and is currently placed at 95. KL Rahul also suffered a drop, going down from 8th to 12th.
