Zimbabwe have named their squad for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers, recalling star all-rounder Sean Williams and batsman Cephas Zhuwao in place of Ryan Burl and Tarisai Musakanda.

Williams last featured for his nation in July last year, in the series against Sri Lanka, but a loss of form with both bat and ball contributed to his axing. However, the 31-year-old has fine-tuned his game in the domestic circuit with the Tuskers and is now back in the reckoning.

Zhuwao, meanwhile, has been plucked out of the wilderness, having last played an international game for his side all the way back in 2011. He too was in fine form in the domestic arena, striking an impressive 265 for the Eagles against the Rhinos.

"@ZimCricketv have recalled Sean Williams and Cephas Zhuwao for the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier. The two were not named in the initial 15-player squad, but have been included in place of Ryan Burl and Tarisai Musakanda," read a post on Zimbabwe cricket's Twitter handle.

Burl and Musakanda struggled in the series against Afghanistan where the visitors were completely outplayed in all departments, and although an official reason for their omission has not yet been given, their poor form is probably what resulted in them getting the boot.

Zimbabwe will begin their qualifying campaign in Bulawayo against Nepal on the 4th of March. With the advantage of playing in front of a home crowd, they would be looking to finish in the top two spots and seal a berth in next year's World Cup.

Full squad: Graeme Cremer (c), Sean Williams, Tendai Chisoro, Tendai Chatara, Craig Ervine, Kyle Jarvis, Hamilton Masakadza, Peter Moor, Solomon Mire, Blessing Muzarabani, Cephas Zhuwao, Sikandar Raza, Brendan Taylor, Brian Vitori, Malcolm Waller.
