The Zimbabwe players are likely to play in the final ODI against Pakistan on Saturday (31st August), says ESPNCricinfo. This development comes after a training session was aborted on Friday over unpaid salaries.

The Zimbabwean players have extended their deadline to Zimbabwe Cricket‘s to pay the players’ salaries to Monday. An unnamed player had made it clear, however, that they will not play the Test series if they are not paid.

Initially, Zimbabwe, through their newly formed players’ union were considering going on strike and not play the final ODI but it has since emerged that “most of the players” are ready to play on Saturday.

Nothing has been finalised yet, though, as an unnamed player told Cricinfo that “even if one guy does not want to play [on Saturday]” then the entire team will sit out because they are “sticking together.” He also said that it had been decided between the players that unless they were paid by Monday, “there will not be a Test series”.
