Zimbabwe v India 2016, Stats: Bumrah, openers help India claim a comfortable 10-wicket win

Bumrah was on fire once again as he ran through the Zimbabwe middle-order

India whitewashed Zimbabwe 3-0 for the second time in as many years after beating the hosts by 10 wickets in the third ODI. Despite winning the toss, Zimbabwe’s middle-order fragility was exposed once again by the Indian bowlers.

It was a case of deja vu for Zimbabwe, who looked set for a decent score at 104/3 but then lost four wickets in four balls and played out a double wicket maiden off Axar Patel to collapse to 104/7.

Jasprit Bumrah was the wrecker-in-chief as he ran through the Zimbabwe middle-order. Although he didn’t pick up his hat-trick, he picked up three wickets in five balls and eventually finished with four wickets as Zimbabwe were bowled out for 123.

In reply, debutant Faiz Fazal and KL Rahul saw India to lunch without any loss. The pair continued their impressive start as Rahul registered his first ODI fifty and Fazal followed suit on debut to help India win with 28.1 overs to spare.
