5 major things to expect from Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 4
Ubisoft recently announced several changes coming in Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 4. On November 12, 2024, the developer released a roadmap for Y9S3 detailing major updates, including console-to-PC crossplay, cheater match cancellation, a new Phantom Player feature, and more. These tweaks will significantly impact the overall gameplay experience.
This article highlights the five major things fans can expect from Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 4.
Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 4: What fans can expect
1) Console to PC Crossplay 1.0
Console to PC Crossplay is coming to Rainbow Six Siege. Console players will soon be able to join their friends in the PC matchmaking pool. The Mousetrap feature will be enabled, which will force confirmed mouse and keyboard console players into PC matchmaking with PC recoil values.
This ensures that as long as there is at least one PC player in a stack, the team will play on a PC server.
2) Cheater match cancellation
Starting in Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 4, if a cheater is detected in a match, they will be kicked out, and the match will be canceled. This change aims to help players avoid matches where they would be at an unfair disadvantage.
Canceling the match after removing the cheater makes sense as the number of players in the teams will be unbalanced. Players won't receive any ranked losses or penalties when a match is canceled.
3) Phantom Player
The Phantom Player in Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 4 is a lobby balancing update. It is a mathematical value that checks the skill disparities between players in a team. It then adds the appropriate values to even out matches.
The Phantom Player will help balance matches based on the number of players in a stack.
4) Siege Cup Beta
The Siege Cup will be released in its Beta testing phase during Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 4. It is expected to offer a competitive experience to both PC and console players, even though it was previously announced only for the former platform.
Players must have a Clearance Level of 50 to participate. Reputation Standings and sanction history will be reviewed to ensure a safe playing environment. Once registered, teams cannot be edited. Additionally, a player can only be a member of one team.
Winning or losing matches will reward players with Competitive Coins, which can later be used to redeem exclusive items and competitive packs.
5) Reputation System refresh
The Reputation System will be revamped to make it more balanced and fair for all players. This refresh aims to combat rash behavior and toxicity, improving the player experience going into Season 4.
These are the major changes fans can look forward to in Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 4. The Y9S3 roadmap also announced other tweaks and additions, such as an AI Chat Moderation feature, Dynamic Matchmaking, and balancing changes for Ying, Sens, and Thunderbird.
