5 reasons to get Sunday in Honkai Star Rail

Sunday is the new playable 5-star Harmony character from Penacony in Honkai Star Rail. He will be introduced along with the version 2.7 update in a couple of days. With his release in this turn-based gacha title now nearing, many players might wonder why they should pull for this new character using Stellar Jades or Star Rail Special Pass. Since pulling for a certain 5-star unit can significantly impact a Trailblazer's account, they tend to roll only for the characters that will benefit their other 5- or 4-stars.

This article will give you five reasons for getting Sunday in Honkai Star Rail 2.7.

Five reasons why you should pull for Sunday in Honkai Star Rail version 2.7

1) Exceptional character design and animations

With his drip marketing announcement, Sunday’s looks have been altered a little in Honkai Star Rail. Instead of his usual sophisticated white attire, he now wears what looks like a hooded jacket. On top of it, he can also be seen flaunting several ornaments.

Sunday’s character animations are also unique when he is engaged in a fight. From his Technique to his Ultimate ability, every single animation emits a premium vibe.

2) Very little chance of becoming a victim of power creeping

Sunday is very unlikely to become a victim of power creeping. While he is debuting during the Break Effect meta, Sunday is a support unit for the upcoming characters from Amphoreus—Remembrance units to be specific. Since the Remembrance path is releasing alongside Amphoreus, he has to wait for several weeks before unleashing his full potential.

The Break Effect characters and meta are still quite popular, so there is a high chance that Sunday will prove to be useful for multiple updates, similar to Ruan Mei.

3) One of the best Harmony characters with exceptional damage-boosting buffs

Following his sibling—Robin’s footsteps, Sunday treads on the Harmony Path. As most players know, characters following this Path usually excel in granting buffs to their allies, and Sunday is no exception. He can easily buff his allies' CRIT stats, bestowing them with a significant damage boost. Since most characters in this title scale with CRIT stats, such as Topaz, Fexiao, Acheron, and more, Sunday can be an exceptional support for them.

Additionally, Sunday’s abilities can buff his allies’ summon damage, meaning units like Topaz and Jing Yuan will be exceptional companions for this 5-star from Penacony.

4) Can be used in numerous team compositions

Considering how Sunday’s abilities are curated, he can be placed in most team compositions as long as the abilities of the other characters don’t scale with Break Effect. This opens up numerous effective team compositions and lets players build a new team for each activity, keeping the game from getting boring. This also means Sunday can make his way into any premade team comp regardless of their playstyle.

However, among most teams, the FUA teams with Topaz and Jing Yuan are the ones that will help Sunday unleash most of his potential.

5) Stellar voice acting across all languages

Sunday is being voiced by several prominent professionals from the VA industry across all languages that Honkai Star Rail features. His Japanese VA, Takeo Otsuka, is a well-known actor known for his role as Hoshino Aquamarine in Oshi no Ko. Apart from that he also worked in video games like THE iDOLM@STER: Side: M.

Meanwhile, Sunday’s English VA, Griffin Puatu is also a prominent actor who has worked on games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Street Fighter 6.
