5 stealth games you should try
Stealth games are a genre that requires appropriate planning, execution, and patience from those who wish to master the craft and play the game as discretely as possible. Being as quiet and sneaky in completing your assigned mission or eliminating a target, and doing so in a a way such that no one suspects you of any wrongdoing can be very rewarding to accomplish.
With that in mind, here are five great stealth games that are worth considering and trying out for gamers who are keen on this type of gameplay. In addition, the games are mentioned along with the systems they are available on.

1) Hitman World of Assassination
The Hitman series has always been about helping the world's most iconic bald assassin, Agent 47, navigate detailed maps, sneak into restricted areas, change outfits in a jiffy, and more.
The recent World Of Assassination brings together the content of three games - the 2016 Hitman reboot, 2018's Hitman 2, and 2021's Hitman 3. Control Agent 47 as he traverses the world, and carries out some high-profile executions while being as quiet as possible.
The game's stealth mechanics are such that if done correctly, most levels can be cleared by using simply the iconic black suit and red tie combination, an achievement termed "Suit Only" in the game. Do your best to earn the fabled "Silent Assassin" rating while playing through the game.

2) Metal Gear Solid V
The Metal Gear Solid series has long been one of the most fabled franchises in all of gaming, with iconic characters such as Big Boss and Snake being etched into the memories of players.
There is also a prologue to the main game termed as Ground Zeroes that adds to the overall story of the game. Using Snake's binoculars to scan every inch of the surroundings for threats, the game's threat detection is denoted to the player by some audio and visual cues when an enemy is about to detect Snake.
Details such as being able to shoot individual lights to increase chances of staying undetected make for a very intriguing stealth experience, which when combined with the fantastic story make it a must-play.

3) Dishonored 2
The sequel to 2012's Dishonored, the second entry in the series features stealth gameplay from a first-person perspective. Every level of the game can be played with complete stealth, using pacification to bring down enemies to progress forth.
With the ability to choose the protagonists between the first game, Corvo Attano and his daughter Emily, the game's stealth mechanics can be rather challenging to master.
However, the same can be very rewarding for players keen to be as sneaky as possible. Do make sure to close all doors, and windows and hide all evidence of your presence, as the guards in the game are rather quick to notice the same.

4) The Last Of Us 2
Naughty Dog's incredibly popular 2013 game, The Last Of Us, spawned many adaptations, including comics and the recent live-action show. Among these is also the sequel, which though has fans divided on its story, features some fantastic stealth mechanics.
Taking place in a post-apocalyptic world, resources such as ammo and tools can prove to be scarce and challenging to come across. This is when stealth mechanics, such as the ability to use "Listen Mode" to ascertain the location of enemies and crouching while traversing come in handy.
Make sure to take cover behind large objects, and rush the enemy when they are alone or vulnerable. This can make gameplay more immersive and can prevent other enemies or hostiles from being alerted.

5) Alien Isolation
Part of the popular Aliens series, Isolation puts players in the shoes of Amanda Ripley with the goal of the game being to navigate through a space station. However, the place is swarming with Aliens, who can be very hostile.
In addition to this, the ammo on offer is rather limited. This is where the stealth mechanics of the game are on display, as even though there is a detector that can be used to find enemies' locations, they are sensitive to sounds and open doors, which makes covering your tracks crucial.
This makes it challenging to plan takedowns, but indeed satisfying once successfully completed. A few enemies can be taken down by using the wrench obtained early in the game, but the game's progression makes the enemies more challenging, and consequentially stealth more important.
