The Elder Scrolls 6 is probably one of the most anticipated upcoming titles not just among RPGs but across all gaming genres. Debuting in 1994 with Elder Scrolls Arena, the series has been an RPG staple ever since its inception. Despite being popular for their games' bugs, there has always been a strong fanbase for the Elder Scrolls games.

However, no details beyond the June 2018 announcement trailer have been made by the publishers. Despite this, expect even a simple mention by Todd Howard's of the term "Elder Scrolls" to break the internet.

The Witcher 4's unveiling at the Game Awards revealed a first for the franchise, with Geralt no longer being the playable character. His adoptive daughter Ciri takes over the reins. Her Elder Blood strengths are well-known from the events of the Wild Hunt, which make playing as her a rather interesting proposition.

Unlike the previous games, this title will be developed on Unreal Engine 5, instead of CDPR's in-house RED Engine. The game will also mark the first installment of a new trilogy in the Witcher franchise. However, Geralt is still confirmed to appear in the campaign.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG set in France's late 1800s Belle Epoque era. The focus of the game is to take down the Paintress, whose terror is unleashed once a year by painting a number and having everyone of that age killed mercilessly.

Much like other entries on this list, the title will be built on the popular Unreal Engine 5. Like many other RPGs, it will feature a party system that will allow you to customize and choose a character's build.

5) Avowed

Pillars of Eternity players may be familar with the terrain of Eora, where the two games in the series take place. Avowed will also be set in the same universe, with its events taking place in an area termed "The Living Lands," where you as the player are sent as part of an envoy.

There are allies from many species who can accompany you on this journey. With a battle system consisting of spells, swords, and more, your task is to investigate a plague that's seemingly taking over the entire region.

6) Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is a sequel to the 2004 entry in the series. As the player, you control a vampire whose survival depends on a constant supply of blood. The source of this blood are humans, whom you attack in the dark of night. There are four playable vampiric clans to choose from at launch, all of which have their unique backstories.

The choice of clan will be crucial as there are different gameplay elements to each clan. For instance, while one clan may prioritise being loud and direct in attacking humans, another may seek to be stealthy and efficient in these takedowns.

The first and second Suikoden games from the 1990s will make their way to modern platforms in March 2025. Many aspects of both games have also been modernized to have them play better on current-generation hardware.

Despite this, both games' stories remain unchanged, so prepare to revisit the popular turn-based combat system of this franchise which makes full use of the series' large party sizes.
