7 changes that Apex Legends needs to bring in 2025

The year 2025 will bring several changes to Apex Legends. Since the Season 23 mid-season patch was delayed to January 2025, players must wait until the update is released to receive all the changes. Besides the upcoming mid-season patch, the developer can implement various aspects/tweaks to make sure the players are enjoying every match.

We list seven changes that should be implemented in Apex Legends in 2025.

7 changes Respawn should introduce to Apex Legends in 2025

1) Buffs to the Skirmisher Class

All the characters in Apex Legends are split into five Classes. Each of them possesses a unique ability the Legends can use during a game. However, Skirmishers feel a little lackluster, since all the characters can do one thing: scan the Care Packages. While most Classes feature two abilities, Supports boast three, which makes them an absolute powerhouse.

Solely because of this, the popularity has shifted to the Supports, overshadowing the Skirmisher Class. Hence, Respawn should buff the latter in 2025 by granting them an additional Class ability to make them more potent in the game.

2) Seer rework

After receiving major nerfs several seasons ago, Seer's pick rate has gone downhill. Since playing with the same character repeatedly can make the players bored quite easily, switching Legends every once in a while keeps the game engaging. However, if you switch from the meta-defining to mediocre characters, you won’t be able to bag wins easily.

That is why Respawn should implement a Seer rework in 2025 which will surely boost his pick rate. If it becomes successful similar to the Lifeline rework, Seer will become a meta-defining character once again.

3) Weapons with attachments after respawning

An important change the developers should implement in Apex Legends is allow players to respawn with attachments. Currently, players don't get any attachments after landing from the dropship. Since some weapons have disadvantageous iron sights, players might find it a little unfair if they have to engage in a fight right after they respawn, as the enemies will have fully kitted weapons.

For that reason, spawning with attachments will be extremely game-changing as players will get a fair chance while fighting.

4) Changes to Alter’s kit

Following Seer’s footsteps, Alter has become one of the least-picked characters in Apex Legends. She was released along with Season 21 and has become the second-least-picked Legend after two updates. Since players tend to play/main the meta-defining characters, Respawn should make changes to Alter’s kit, allowing her to become more effective during the Apex Games. These changes can come in various forms that can exceptionally portray the character’s design while keeping her identity as a Skimisher

5) Ranked Leagues overhaul

One of the primary reasons players boot up Apex Legends is to push their ranks to the top. However, at times, ranking up becomes quite hard as the matchmaking balancing is quite unfair. Moreover, there is not much incentive to play ranked as most of the associated rewards are not worthwhile.

While players can get a badge to show off their rank from the previous season, you can only equip a handful of them on your character banners. Therefore, Respawn should bring in massive changes to the playlist to make the players more enthusiastic about it.

6) UI that lets players see all healing items in their inventory

A UI that will exactly tell the players how many healing items they are carrying is an exceptional quality of life change. Hence, players won't have to always open their inventory to check. Currently, the feature can only be utilized by the Spectator mode in custom games, which is commonly seen during the ALGS livestreams. While spectating a player, the viewers can see exactly how many healing items they are carrying, such as Shield Cells, Batteries, Med Kits, and Syringes.

7) Remove SBMM (Skill Based Matchmaking) from Casual game modes

Removing SBMM from most Casual game modes will improve the average player’s experience by a hefty margin. If you luck out and end up getting a decent amount of skill while slaying out the lobby, the SBMM will kick in, putting you into lobbies with players who are significantly better than you. While SBMM is fine for Ranked Leagues, it can switch the casual game modes’ experience to ranked difficulty in an instant. Since some players mostly play to chill and enjoy their free time, SBMM in Apex Legends can easily change that.
