All Natlan Ancient Names and Bearers in Genshin Impact
In Genshin Impact, an Ancient Name is a revered title within Natlan, held by members of the region's six tribes and symbolized by a unique obsidian stone. Each Ancient Name is linked to the legendary deeds of its past bearers, representing the tribe's storied legacy.
Passing down an Ancient Name allows each tribe to honor and preserve its heroic history through successive generations. In total, there are six individuals currently known as Ancient Name Bearers in the game.
This article is going to cover all the Ancient Names and their respective Bearers in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact: All Natlan Ancient Names and Bearers
1) Umoja - Mualani
Mualani is a 5-star Hydro Catalyst-using character from the People of the Springs tribe in Genshin Impact. She is a friendly and upbeat young woman, known for her love of making friends, watersports, and surfing.
During the Archon Quest, she quickly bonds with the Traveler and Paimon, inviting them to her tribe. She is also a loyal friend to Kachina, helping her during personal struggles and rescuing her when needed.
Though she runs a business, Mualani casually leaves it unmanned, trusting people to pay. Despite her carefree demeanor, she’s a skilled warrior with experience in pilgrimages and the Night Warden Wars, never requiring the Ode of Resurrection.
Mualani's Ancient Name, Umoja, signifies unity and was given to her by Tupac the Giant. He reawakened Mualani, sharing with her the memories of a grand plan devised by the Pyro Archon, Mavuika.
2) Malipo - Kinich
Kinich is a 5-star Dendro character from the Scions of the Canopy tribe in Genshin Impact. A Saurian Hunter, he is a quiet and pragmatic individual with a talent for assessing the value of any task — including mercenary work — guided by his utilitarian beliefs. He is often accompanied by K'uhul Ajaw, a self-proclaimed "Almighty Dragonlord," with whom he frequently argues.
Kinich holds the ancient name "Malipo," meaning Turnfire, which he received from the hero named Burkina. In the Archon Quest, it’s revealed that he was aware of his status as one of Natlan’s six chosen heroes before this information was confirmed in Act 2.
3) Uwezo - Iansan
Iansan, the first character introduced from Natlan during the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Teaser, is a member of the Collective of Plenty tribe wielding the Electro element. She is a small girl with dark skin, long ears, and light green eyes. She has long gray hair styled in pigtails and white body paint near her nose and on both her shoulders.
As a fitness instructor and Champion Mentor for the Pilgrimage of the Return of the Sacred Flame, she sports an orange-and-black headband adorned with an animal skull. Iansan's ancient name is "Uwezo," meaning Power. The hero known as Wanjiru granted Iansan her Ancient Name.
4) Baraka - Xilonen
Xilonen is the fourth ancient hero revealed in Genshin Impact. She is a 5-star Geo sword-wielding unit, who hails as a blacksmith from the Children of Echoes tribe. She has a relaxed demeanor and values her leisure time, but she is deeply dedicated to her work. She is often found researching ancient texts and books, which clutter her workshop.
While Xilonen tends to focus on practical, technical aspects rather than abstract ideas, she became intrigued by the concept of Ancient Name forging through a thought exercise in cross-referencing stories.
Xilonen makes her debut in the 5.1 Archon Quest, where she aids the Traveler in forging an ancient name. Her Ancient Name in the story is "Baraka," which means Blessing, and was given to her by the hero named Sundjatta.
5) Bidii - Ororon
Ororon was the fifth character who received his Ancient Name during the Archon Quest in the Genshin Impact 5.1 update. He is a 4-star Electro bow-using character who hails from the Masters of the Night-Wind tribe. Like his mentor Citlali, Ororon is considered an eccentric outlier, adopting many of Citlali's traits and choosing to live away from tribal lands.
Abandoned by his biological parents in childhood for unknown reasons, Ororon was raised by his tribe but ostracized due to his "damaged" soul, believed to bring misfortune. Initially, the tribe intended to sacrifice him to the Night Kingdom, but the ritual failed and left Ororon with a desire to sacrifice himself for others.
After the Khaenri'ahn soul Guthred tried to control his body for Capitano, Ororon realized his life had a greater purpose. This prompted him to reassess his support of Capitano's plan and earn acknowledgment from his tribe's Wayob. Ororon's Ancient Name, Bidii, means Devotion, and was given to him by the hero named Sanhaj.
6) Vuka - Chasca
Chasca is the final character to become an Ancient Name bearer in Genshin Impact and help Mavuika in fulfilling her plan to save the nation of Natlan.
She was abandoned by her biological parents due to a rare disease, yet she survived in the wild before being adopted by a group of Qucusaurs and later by Chuychu's parents. As a member of the Flower-Feather Clan, she is known as a skilled peacekeeper, capable of resolving tribal disputes with ease.
Chasca has faced numerous conflicts, including internal struggles, but consistently rises above them. She is a seasoned participant in the Night Warden Wars, and is recognized as one of Natlan's most infamous Peacemakers. Chasca bears the Ancient Name "Vuka," which was given to her by the hero named Menilek.
