All playable Temtem in Temtem Swarm Early Access and how to unlock them

With the launch of Temtem Swarm in early access, fans of the monster-taming indie title get to enjoy a whole new way of battling foes in this new roguelike spin-off game. The game has a variety of playable critters that players can choose from, each catering to a different playstyle, while facing hordes of hostile Temtems across the game's varied maps.

This guide aims to familiarize both newcomers and fans will all playable Temtems in the game as well as the criteria to unlock them. Here are the details.

How to unlock every Temtem in Temtem Swarm

There are a total of seven playable creatures in the Early Access build, including starter Temtems from the main MMORPG game. While two of these are available from the get-go, players must obtain eggs to unlock the rest. More will be added via updates as the game matures.

Platypet

  • Type: Water/Toxic
  • Evolves Into: Platox at level 10, Platymous at level 25
  • Trait: Gain +0.5% damage per level of Water or Toxic techniques
  • How to unlock: Unlocked by default.

This is one of the two Temtems available from the start in Temtem Swarm. Platypet is a Water/Toxic type critter that uses Water Blade as its default attack, launching a projectile at a foe. Meanwhile, its Tsunami Ultimate is an incredibly powerful AOE attack that sweeps in a 360-degree area sweeping across all foes and damaging them.

Smazee

  • Type: Melee
  • Evolves Into: Baboong at level 10, Seismunch at level 25
  • Trait: Gain +5 max Health every 5 levels (max +120)
  • How to unlock: Unlocked by default.

Smazee is also one of the two starter monsters in Temtem Swarm. This Melee-type monster is perhaps the easiest to start with, as it can dish out good damage at a fast rate. It uses Martial Strike to deal standard damage to foes while its Seismunch's Wreck Ultimate makes the Temtem invulnerable to damage, allowing it to roll two boulders over foes to decimate them.

Crystle

Crystal-type Temtem Crystle (Image via Crema)

  • Type: Crystal
  • Evolves Into: Sherald at level 10, Tortenite at level 25
  • Trait: Gains +1 Armor every 10 levels (max +18)
  • How to unlock: Defeat Tucma's 15-minute boss Gharunder then complete the egg event on any map at the 3-minute mark.

Originally a Starter Temtem in the main game, this creature is the hardest one to get, as you can only obtain its egg after beating the final boss of the fourth map Tucma. Crystle uses Glass Blade melee attack to attack enemies and when charged up, can unleash the powerful Tortenite's Garden Ultimate that marks foes as Condemned. When these marked foes die, they heal the user for +1 HP for each slain enemy.

Houchic

  • Type: Mental
  • Evolves Into: Tental at level 10, Nagaise at level 25
  • Trait: Gains +1 Damage every 10 levels
  • How to unlock: Defeat Arbury's 15-minute boss Aohi then complete the egg event on any map at the 3-minute mark.

After Smazee and Crystle, Houchic is the third Temtem that was featured as a starter in the MMORPG. In Temtem Swarm, its default attack Tentacle Slash summons a tentacle from the ground to deal damage twice to foes in intervals. Moreover, the Nagaise's Fury Ultimate summons a series of large tentacles at random spots around the user, hitting all foes around them and slowing them down.

Oree

  • Type: Digital
  • Evolves Into: Zaobian at level 15
  • Trait: Starts with one Dash
  • How to unlock: Defeat Cipanku's 10-minute boss Golzy then complete the egg event on any map at the 3-minute mark.

Oree is less about damage and more about laying down traps and evasive measures to escape foes. It is the only Temtem in Temtem Swarm with an active Trait allowing it to dash to evade damage. This is because its default move Data Corruption only slows down foes, though it does boast the powerful Mechanical Heat Ultimate that launches fiery rockets at nearby foes.

Innki

  • Type: Crystal/Electric
  • Evolves Into: -
  • Trait: Gains -1% Cooldown every 3 levels (max: -30%)
  • How to unlock: Defeat Cipanku's 15-minute boss Nessla then complete the egg event on any map at the 3-minute mark.

Innki is the second dual-type creature in Temtem Swarm and does not evolve. Its main DC Beam attack jolts the nearest foe with electricity while the Electric Storm Ultimate calls down lightning on random locations. Due to many of Innki's skills relying on random location damage, its Trait specializes in reducing the cooldowns of its techniques and moves.

Pigepic

  • Type: Wind
  • Evolves Into: -
  • Trait: Gain + x0.1 Health Recovery every 15 levels
  • How to unlock: Defeat Deniz's 15-minute boss Oceara then complete the egg event on any map at the 3-minute mark.

Pigepic is another critter in Temtem Swarm that does not evolve. It uses Wind attacks, such as its main move Wind Blade which damages foes and pushes them away. Meanwhile, its Ultimate, Divine Inspiration, makes the unit invulnerable for the duration doubling its Health Regeneration to enhance its survivability.

Temtem Swarm is currently available on PC via early access.
