Ashes Cricket 2017: Australia wicketkeeper Tim Paine excluded from the game

Tim Paine was for long considered the solution to Australia's wicket-keeping woes, following the retirements of Adam Gilchrist and Brad Haddin. The promising opener/keeper however suffered a serious finger injury which has kept him out of action and paved the way for new keeper/batsmen such as Peter Nevill and Matthew Wade.

Surprisingly, however, the Hobart Hurricanes batsman has suddenly been thrust back into the limelight and following a successful return to the limited overs International cricket, he has now been called up to the Ashes squad against England.

This recall however, was certainly not on the horizon as far as the creators of the latest cricket game were concerned, that of course being Ashes Cricket. The game highlights, as the name suggests, the historic rivalry between England and Australia, and is produced by Big Ant Studios to showcase the best of the epic rivalry between the two sides.

From what we know of the game so far, the in-game graphics are unlike any other cricket game so far, with player faces almost identical, and the sheer crispness of work can be seen throughout the game. First instance of the game after playing it highlights a few bugs every now and then but the game is significantly in the right direction. The game has an engaging career mode, extensive customisation options and approachable controls, making this a fun play for the casual gamer.

However, with the lack of completeness in the squad, if you're an Aussie fan looking to play with a returning Tim Paine, you're most likely going to be disappointed as the hard-hitting batsman has been left out of the game entirely with no real hope of a character in the game as we speak. Nonetheless, Ashes Cricket is a game to look out for, albeit without the entire 2017 Ashes squad included in it.
