Best 424 tactics in EA FC 25

The 424 formation can be very useful if you have good attacking players in your EA FC 25 team. Even so, using the best-suited tactics in the form of FC IQ Player Roles, Build-Up Style, and Defensive Approach is still pretty vital, as they can give you a strategic upper hand in matches. However, choosing the right settings for these parameters can prove somewhat challenging for inexperienced players.

So, in this article, we will look at the best custom tactics to use with the 424 formation in EA FC 25.

EA FC 25 tactics guide: Best custom tactics to use with the 424 formation

The 424 formation uses four players in the backline - Left Back (LB), Right Back (RB), and two Center Backs (CB) - as well as four players up front in attack - Left Winger (LW), Right Winger (RW), and two Strikers. The midfield, however, is a bit thin, as there are only two Center Midfielders (CM).

As for the Build-Up Style and Defensive Approach, use a Short Passing for the former and High with a Line Height of 75 for the latter parameter. Now, in combination with the assigned FC IQ Player Roles in the following section, the team should be well-distributed and always look to attack.

One of your two EA FC 25 Strikers should be given the Advanced Forward role with Complete Focus, and the other the Target Forward role with Balanced Focus. The LW should play the Winger, and the RW in the Inside Forward role, both with their Focus set to Attack.

In the midfield, one CM should be assigned the Deep-Lying Playmaker role with Defend Focus, and the other the Holding role, also with Defend Focus.

At the back, the LB should be given the Attacking Wingback role with the Focus set to Balanced. The RB should play in the Fullback Player Role, with both CBs in the Defender role, and all three's Focus should be set to Defend. Finally, your Goalkeeper should play the Sweeper Keeper role with Balanced Focus.

As can be seen in the images above, some players have a + sign with their Player Roles. This means they are a great fit for the job. Similarly, players with a ++ sign are even better for the role. A lack of these signs just means the player is good enough.
