Best 433(3) tactics in EA FC 25

433 is one of the most widely used formations in football and is pretty popular in games like EA FC 25 as well. The 433(3) formation is a variation of this setup, suitable for squads with more than one good defensive midfielder, or gamers who want to prioritize defense slightly more. However, in addition to choosing the right formation, one must also use the best-suited tactics to get ideal match results.

This is where the new FC IQ feature comes into play via its Player Roles, Build-Up Style, and Defensive Approach options. As such, let's look at the best custom tactics to use with 433(3) formation in EA FC 25.

EA FC 25 guide: Best custom tactics to use with 433(3) formation

In terms of layout, 433(3) features the usual four-player backline of a Left Back (LB), Right Back (RB), and two Center Backs (CB). This system also uses the standard three-player frontline where a central Striker (ST) is flanked by Left and Right Wingers (LW and RW). The variation lies in the midfield, where instead of the traditional configuration of two Center Midfielders (CM) and one Center Defensive Midfielder (CDM), there are two CDMs and only one CM.

So, a Balanced Build-Up Style paired with a Defensive Approach (with a Line Height of 50) should suit this setup well. These FC IQ settings should allow the team to build up their attack patiently while being secure defensively.

EA FC 25 Players can be assigned one out of many Player Roles for a particular position. Some individuals may even have a + or ++ sign in certain options, which basically indicates that they are a great fit for that role.

For the 433(3) formation, assign your ST the Advanced Striker role and set Focus to Attack. Assign both LW and RW Inside Forward and set their Focus to Roaming.

In the midfield, have your CM play in a Box-to-Box role with Balanced Focus, and both CDMs as Deep-Lying Playmaker, one with Defend Focus, and the other with Roaming.
