Creating Chris Benoit in WWE 2K15 gets player banned

So Chris Benoit is a bit of a controversial topic in WWE recently but is creating a Chris character in WWE 2K15 worthy of a ban?. Well, WWE seems to think so. A player recently took to Twitter to try and figure out why his account had been banned from the game, and he got his answer too. Turns out he created Chris Benoit and got ban hammered because of it.

Community Manager Marcus Stephenson answered the player on Twitter stating that his ban from WWE 2K15 was because he uploaded “a Chris Benoit face to community creations.”

@corybundick I just checked your account. You were banned because you uploaded a Chris Benoit face to community creations.

Stephenson stated further that in the end the game is a “WWE” product so their rules and regulations still apply. This seems to include banning anything related to Chris Benoit. Stephenson then advised players to avoid creating a Chris Benoit character so they can avoid getting banned. The same goes for any other offensive images as well.

However, other non controversial characters can still be created including various characters from TV Shows or Movies. Just avoid anything controversial and you should be ban free.

And for those of you who do not know who Chris Benoit is and what he did, he used to be a wrestler for WWE and quick wikipedia search will tell you all you need to know. Needless to say, even since the tragic incident back in June 2007, WWE has avoided talking about him or the incident.

So if you own a copy of WWE 2K15, try and avoid creating a Chris character unless you prefer getting banned.
