Dplus KIA welcomes former T1 coach Bengi for the 2025 League of Legends season
The 2025 season of the League of Legends esports scene is anticipated to be fascinating with the ongoing worldwide transfer saga. The latest news highlights that the LCK giant, Dplus KIA, has signed Bae "Bengi" Seong-woong as the team's head coach for the upcoming season. Bengi was a former Jungler and also the head coach for T1 in the past.
Furthermore, the team has signed a few more prominent names as coaching staff. With three consecutive years of disappointing results, Dplus KIA is determined to bring back the former glory days.
Dplus KIA signs Bengi, PoohManDu, and Hachani for the 2025 League of Legends season
Following the end of the 2024 season with T1 winning the LoL Worlds by defeating Bilibili Gaming, every other team is poised to bring success in the upcoming year. There are plenty of rumors regarding top teams signing star players in all regions. Also, most of the player contacts are expiring in the upcoming days, so we can expect a plethora of roster shuffles.
Now, Dplus KIA made the official announcement of signing a new coaching team for the 2025 season. They have hired the following members:
- Bae "Bengi" Seong-woong: Head coach
- Lee "PoohManDu" Jeong-hyeon: Assistant coach
- Ha "Hachani" Seung-chan: Assistant coach
- Kim "Khan" Dong-ha: Player adviser
Bengi served as the Jungler for SK Telecom T1 from 2013 to 2016, during which he achieved three League of Legends Worlds titles with the team. Subsequently, he took on the role of head coach for T1 from 2021 to 2023. Nevertheless, following a series of losses in the grand finals, he left the organization during the mid-season of 2023.
PoohManDu also contributed to T1's victorious rosters at the Worlds tournaments in both 2013 and 2016, serving as a Support player and later as a coach. Furthermore, he was a member of the coaching staff for DAMWON Gaming during the 2020-21 season, which was the previous iteration of Dplus KIA.
Hachani, currently serving as the head coach for the Dplus Challengers team, has been appointed to take on the coaching responsibilities for the main team. Additionally, the esteemed former Toplaner Khan will join the organization in the capacity of player adviser, aiming to enhance performance outcomes.

The official X account of Dplus asserted the following:
"We look forward to seeing the glory and expertise that they haveubuilt over the years shine even brighter at Dplus KIA. Let’s give a big applause to them as they will strongly lead our players through this new phase of change."
Recent transfer speculation indicates that Dplus KIA is anticipated to add prominent players to its main roster. Following the recent departure of Support player Jeong "Moham" Jae-hun from the team, fans can look forward to the acquisition of a high-caliber player to assist ADC Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram.
As the majority of player contracts are set to expire on November 18, 2024, it is expected that most teams will soon disclose their roster changes.
